Educated at University of Cologne with Diploma in zoology, botany, biochemistry, Cum laude at University of Cologne, Terrestrial Ecology and Entomology and Ph.D. Biology in zoology, botany and biochemistry

Work experience since 1982 at DESOWAG BAYER Holzschutz GmbH – Research and development of new products and methodologies in wood protection, evaluation of European Standards for testing of preservatives against wood destroying insects (with special regard to termites) and fungae. Moved on to Bayer AG, Laboratory of Stored Product Protection and Field Tests Laboratory of Arthropod Breeding’s and Field Tests + Laboratory of Rodenticides (04. 1993 – 12. 1994), Animal Health, Development, Hygiene Products Animal Health, Research & Development, Clinical Trials and Head of the laboratory for ectoparasitic ides.
